It is part of a broader series of artworks which stem from the ongoing project Vox Populi: Tahrir Archives, an archive of digital data pertaining to global social movements which the author has gathered and performed in various media since 2011. ABC: A Lesson in History is dedicated to the thousands of illiterates among the many Egyptian protesters who fought for freedom and democracy in Egypt’s 2011 uprisings.
